Dr. Goutam Sadhu, PhD, DHSM, MBA, PGDRD, is a Professor, in-charge (School of Rural Management) and an adjunct faculty at School of International Health, John Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. He has been trained in Health System Management from Galileo College, Israel and in water, sanitation health and decentralized planning from IRC, Netherlands. He has an extensive experience and expertise of three decades in the field of water, sanitation, hygiene, nutrition, rural development, panchayati raj institutions, health education, community participation, management of NGOs, project management and in institutional development. He is Program coordinator and team leader of the WASH Projects at the IIHMR University, Jaipur. He has been a member of various committees of the Government of Rajasthan such as Steering Committee of Water Resource Management, Apex Committee of State Water and Sanitation, etc.. He is the author and facilitator of several books, papers and reports related to community participation, institutional development, gender, devolution of panchayati-raj activities water and sanitation. He has good knowledge and network with the National and International level organizations working in health, nutrition, WASH and development sector. He worked as a core team member of UNESCO who prepared Drought Policy for Africa. Prior to IIHMRU he worked with Ministry of Rural Development, GoI, UNICEF, CSR, and as a consultant to JICA and in World Bank Projects. Dr. Sadhu has been recognized in different National and International forum for his outstanding work in the sector of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. Some of the worth mentioning awards are Titan Award for Swaach Bharat Abhiyan (IIHMRU has been recognized as only university having 360 degree solutions in Total Sanitation) in 2016, Linga Raj Award from IWWA in 2016, which is a life time achievement award for community participation in Water and Sanitation, Leadership Award from IEMU for the year 2016-17, Nirmal Gram Purshkar by President of India in year 2007 and Jal Abhiyan Award for the outstanding contribution from GoR for conservation of water for Jaipur Division
